FAQ

What is an electric panel?

An electrical panel channels electricity from the power utility company to the various spaces in your home or building where electricity is needed. Electrical panels spread out into smaller branches, and those branches split into even smaller branches. This ensures that electricity is safely and evenly distributed. An electrical panel that functions properly is essential for the proper running of a home or business.

Where is the electric panel in my home?

Typically, electrical panels can be easily identified as being metal boxes mounted on one of the walls. They will usually be placed somewhere that is out of the way and easily accessible, such as inside a garage or laundry room.

How outdated electrical panels can negatively affect your home or business:
  • You frequently find that your lights are flickering, especially when many appliances are being used simultaneously.

  • Your breakers either trip often, or the fuses blow.

  • Your electrical wires are prone to melting.

  • Your current electrical panel cannot handle the load passing through it and you find it necessary to turn off one device in order to use another.

  • Defective circuit breakers may fail to trip, creating a high risk of electrical shocks, overheating and electrical fires.

  • Numerous hazards arise, presenting a danger to your clients or  customers, employees, and property.
